Boko Haram Attack Kasuwan Shanu;

Boko Haram Attack Kasuwan Shanu; A suicide bomber early hours of Monday 26th December 2016 almost unleashed mayhem on the people of Borno state as it detonated a bomb in Kasuwan shanu market in Maiduguri, the state’s capital.

This was following the statement made by the president 2days earlier about completely dismantling Boko Haram in Sambisa forest. Prior to this incident, the Army had announced the capture of “Camp Zairo, the last of Boko Haram controlled territory in Sambisa forest. The military had promised that the era of insecurity, especially the Boko Haram insurgency would be a thing of the past before the end of December 2016.

Also, Governor of Borno state, Governor Kashim Shettima had earlier described 2016 as his best year in office as the governor of Borno state since assuming office in May 29, 2011, five years ago. This is because for him, 2016 is the year that has witnessed a major breakthrough in the ongoing fight against the insurgency group Boko Haram.

According to the governor, his Christmas gift this year to the people of Borno state was a crisis free celebration and he referred to this year’s December/Christmas as his most enjoyed.

Confirming the incidence, spokesperson for the Borno State command DSP Victor Isuku who said the explosion occurred in the morning of Monday involved 2bombers, one female and one male.The female bomber was said to have been shut as she was in the process of detonating her bomb IED while the male was captured and his device diffused.

Intelligent report also confirm that 5 suicide bombers infiltrated Borno state on the morning of Christmas. It will appear the attackers had privy information as they acted at about the time chief of Army staff Buratai and government officials were reopening roads leading to towns in Borno state north east of Nigeria.

This goes to give credit to the believe even by top Military personnel that Boko Haram has informants in the country some of whom may even be prominent members of the society, making the job of fishing them out and completely wiping them more difficult.

Nigeria has been battling BokoHaram Insurgency for the past 7 years and the group has killed a dozen thousand and more people. They have also displaced more than 2 million people in the northern part of the country.
