Turkish International School children Kidnapped.

Turkish International School children Kidnapped. If there ever was a time for school authorities to toughen up security in their school premises, it will be now. The cases of kidnapping while they may not necessarily be new, have increased in recent times and the trend seem to be involving school children, a trend that is rather worrisome.

Although the reasons may differ, it does not make any difference that innocent school children are been traumatized by these events and as such, there is the need for school authorities, state universal basic education, the government and the community at large to collectively in different capacities ensure the safety of school children is top priority moving forward to curb this menace or at the very least take the heat away from school children.

Gun men late hours of Friday were reported to have invaded a private school in Isheri area of Ogun State, Turkish international school now Tulip international school where they made away with 5 staff members and 2 students making a total number of 7 persons abducted.

The kidnappers were reported to have gained access to the female section of the school through the back fence of the school premises, a point presumably with low fencing where they held hostage supervisors, a cook, a female Turkish teacher and 2 female students.

A spokesperson for the school authority Cemal Yigit confirmed the incidence alongside the anti-kidnapping squad of the Ogun state police command.
The gun men were also reported to have left with the abductors through the swampy area at the back of school premises.

On the other hand, Ogun state government  has assured parents of the kidnapped children and the general public that they have swung into action in other to get the kidnappers as men of the Nigerian police and the anti-kidnapping team of Ogun state are already on the trail of the kidnappers.

It also assured the general public of their commitment to prompt actions to ensure safety and security in the state. This was in a statement by the state deputy governor Mrs Yetunde Onanuga when she led other members of the state executive counsel to the school premises.
